Depression can come from a variety of sources or events and occur at a variety of ages. Depression is recognized as a pervasive and persistent low mood that is accompanied by low self-esteem, a loss of interest or pleasure in otherwise enjoyable activities. Physicians often use medications to help alleviate depression symptoms and will recommend counseling to help accelerate the healing process.
To help clients alleviate their depression, I will often use EMDR and BST (brain spotting therapy) to help identify and alleviate the potential causes of the depression. Depression is not a label I would put on anyone; however, it is often an overwhelming state we find ourselves in and need to develop strategies to help overcome it. As a therapist, I am committed to helping you achieve just that.
